There will be a few extra variations and possibly some changes to the above that occur on the day.

Essentially, this event will be the first bus-related event to be held in Leeds since the Bramley bus garage open day in 1987, though there was a small event at the Middleton Railway and Royal Armouries in circa 2000.

A list of entrants is online here (MS Excel format)

We therefore hope that as many people as possible will come to support our event (it is completely free, with free entry to the display of vehicles, free entry to the undercover stalls and display area, and free bus rides on vintage buses - certain extras may be charged for such as the stadium tours being offered by Leeds United AFC directly and bouncy castle/bungee trampolines/inflatable slide/go karts). The event is equally aimed at the family (whether young, old or a mixture) and those who have a specialist transport interest.

Limited parking is available in the Leeds City Council owned car parks at the junction of Elland Road and Wesley Street - this will be on a first come first served basis. We would urge people to travel by public bus into central Leeds or the White Rose Centre, and thence our free shuttle buses.

If you are in the 'general public' category, please put the date in your diary/calendar/phone. Even if it rains on the day, we will have a range of interesting things on offer for all the family. Unlike many museums, TYPG does not have a "do not touch" policy. All the TYPG buses at the event (but probably not many of the private ones) will be opened up, with one of our people on board, and your kids (and even mum & dad) will be welcome to sit in the drivers seat, look at the engine, change the destination blind on the front of the bus, etc etc. Obviously they will need to be accompanied by a responsible adult, however we wish our collection to be anything but stuffed and mounted in a glass case, and buses are built primarily for people after all.

If you (or your group) own a vintage vehicle, you are very welcome to bring it to the event. You even get a free tea/coffee for the driver/owner, and if you have a sales stall you are very welcome to bring this along as well (no charge). Buses and commercial vehicles of any age are welcome, as are cars that are worthy of display (I'm not going to give a hard and fast age criteria - if you have a car that you think would be of interest to others, then come along). I am however awaiting confirmation of precisely what display space will be available for cars. All vehicles will be parked on hard-standing.

If you have a sales stand (which may or may not be transport related), you are again very welcome. There will be a small rate payable, and a limited number of tables can be provided.

If you are a local community group, you are very welcome to have some display space inside the display stall. Please contact us with details of your organisation.

Any local business - as above, for a fair, sensible amount. We expect between 5,000 and 10,000 people to attend the event.

Whilst we are in discussion with one sponsor, we are happy to discuss with other companies either full sponsorship, or sponsorship of part of the event. In return, we can offer you display space inside the event, through to a full package of sponsorship that could include your logo being tastefully displayed on some of our vehicles, content in the event programme, and inclusion in event publicity (pre and post).

The flyer for the event can be downloaded from here (PDF format) If you have access to a shop window/notice board please contact us if you are able to have a poster displayed.

Vehicle Owners and stall holders, you can download our invitation/entry for here (MS Word format) or here (PDF format). We hope to see as many of you as possible in July.

We hope to see you all in July!

Finally, if there is anyone reading this who has an interest in buses/transport who has time on their hands, you would be very welcome to help us with the preparations running upto the event. Whether with restoration work on vehicles, or helping with admin, your help would be very gratefully received and you will enjoy yourself. Please get in touch. Similarly if you would like some leaflets or posters to display locally.
